The FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup enters the semifinal stage Thursday with one interesting and surprising group remaining.
Hosts Germany are the favorites after defeating North Korea 2-0 Saturday. Germany will take on South Korea in the first semifinal after the South Korean's dominated Mexico in a 3-1 win Sunday.
Meanwhile, Columbia advanced to the semifinals Saturday with an impressive 2-0 win over Sweden. The South American's will face off with Nigeria, which shockingly topped the United States, the defending champion, 4-2 on penalty kicks after the match ended 1-1 after extra time.
Four different continents are represented at the semifinal stage, with Germany representing Europe, Columbia representing South America, South Korea representing Asia, and Nigeria representing Africa.
Germany will play South Korea Thursday at 9:30 a.m. Eastern, while Nigeria will take on Columbia at 12:30 p.m. Thursday. The final takes place Sunday at 9 a.m. Eastern in Bielefeld.
