| Dallstream could miss remainder of season with ankle injury |

Sky Blue FC forward Kiersten Dallstream is expected to miss the rest of the season after injuring her ankle in training last week. There is no official word from the team yet, but it is suspected that Dallstream's ankle is fractured, putting her out of commission for the remainder of the season. Dallstream was seen on crutches Sunday at Yurcak Field when Sky Blue FC lost 2-0 to the Chicago Red Stars. She was next to Carli Lloyd, who was walking and is now training. Lloyd has not played since April 25 and it is unclear when she will return. Dallstream has played in 12 games this season, starting six and registering one assist. Meanwhile, Sky Blue FC is on a four-game losing streak. In the last three games, the team has given up four goals in the opening 10 minutes of play. "It puts us in a situation where we are chasing the game and though we feel comfortable that we'll get the one back, we just haven't been scoring," Sky Blue FC Head Coach Rick Stainton said. The defense has shuffled of late, with Sunday's match seeing Brittany Taylor push into the midfield, Daphne Koster slide to outside back opposite Meghan Schnur and Keeley Dowling pairing centrally with Christie Rampone. "I think we are just trying to find a rhythm and find out what dictates our team and we are just trying to put a little pressure on and we're getting caught up with that pressure in teams getting through on us," Rampone said. "Because we are trying to sit back and find out who we are as a team and trying to keep that possession oriented team, but our pressure isn't quite good enough yet and that is something we have to work on." Saturday offers Sky Blue FC the opportunity to right the ship with a road match against the Atlanta Beat at 7 p.m. The Beat lost 2-0 Wednesday to the Boston Breakers at Harvard Stadium, snapping a four-game unbeaten streak. With a 4-8-5 (17 pts.) record, Atlanta could hop Sky Blue FC (5-8-3, 18 pts.) in the standings with a win. Atlanta currently sits in last place while Sky Blue FC is in sixth. |
